Award-winning author Simonetta Carr was born in Italy and has lived and worked in different cultures. A former elementary school teacher, she has been a homeschooling mother for many years. As a writer, she has contributed to newspapers and magazines around the world and has translated the works of several Christian authors into Italian.

Presently, she lives in San Diego with her husband Thomas and two of her eight children. Besides writing and translating, she teaches Italian as a second language. She is a member of Christ United Reformed Church and a regular contributor to Modern Reformation. She also writes a regular column, "Cloud of Witnesses," as part of the Place for Truth website held by the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, and she directs the "Kids Talk Church History" podcast.

Simonetta has spoken in churches, schools, and other venues in the United States, Canada, Indonesia, and Italy. The topics of her talks have been: teaching church history to children; mental health and the church; and relevant questions by women in church history.
